Experts visit the biology class

On June 4, 2018 Prof. Dr. Gabriele Pradel and Alexandra Golzmann from RWTH Aachen University were in biology class 9a. Within the framework of the series "Immunobiology", the structure of a bacterial cell was first repeated. The pupils then received background information on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria before they were able to carry out gram staining on their own. While the preparations had to dry, Prof. Dr. Pradel gave an informative lecture on various bacterial diseases (plague, MRSA, leprosy). The specially produced preparations were then microscopically examined by the pupils. At the end of the two lessons, an antibiotic test was taken, which will be evaluated in the next lesson.
